Across two months, you learn to shape indoor and outdoor spaces that work for daily use while integrating plants and landscape thinking. Training covers space planning, materials and colour, furniture and circulation, exterior terraces and gardens, and ways to present ideas—so your work can support interior styling, landscape-linked design, and built-environment projects with a green, livable character.
Module 1: Design Principles for Interior and Exterior Spaces
- Balance, proportion, rhythm, and emphasis in room and outdoor layouts
- Connecting interior character with exterior views and entry
- User needs, privacy, and comfort in residential and small commercial settings
- Briefing, mood references, and design concept development
Module 2: Space Planning and Functional Layout
- Zoning, circulation, and furniture footprints on simple plans
- Kitchen, living, bedroom, and workspace planning basics
- Outdoor seating, paths, and activity areas
- Accessibility and clearances for safe, usable layouts
Module 3: Materials, Colour, and Furnishing Concepts
- Common interior and exterior finishes and their appropriate use
- Colour schemes for walls, floors, and focal elements
- Furniture selection, scale, and styling for cohesive rooms
- Lighting layers for ambience and task needs
Module 4: Exterior Areas, Facades, and Outdoor Living
- Balconies, patios, courtyards, and rooftop considerations
- Simple facade and entrance treatment with planting
- Paving, edging, and outdoor furniture placement
- Shade, wind, and sun management for outdoor comfort
Module 5: Plant Integration in Built Environments
- Indoor plants, planters, and vertical green concepts
- Linking softscape with hardscape at transitions
- Choosing plants for light, maintenance, and microclimate indoors and out
- Coordinating with landscape and maintenance teams on site
Module 6: Presentation and Design Communication
- Sketches, mood boards, and simple presentation layouts
- Describing materials, colours, and planting to clients and contractors
- Basic specification notes for interiors and exterior elements
- Capstone: presenting one interior–exterior concept package
